Presentation of folk dances

Dance was a form of connection between people and nature. Movement was present before the music, and with the music it started to develop.

During about 1900s, it was present at almost all the events important to the people. Personal holidays, local events, haunting evil spirits with dancing, making sure the bride was married into a good marriage, sewing a sack for a good harvest. But most of all with music, people relaxed, got to know each other, teased each other and played.

We will do everything that the guests at Sodar homestead enjoy the feeling that the upcoming year will be good to them. We love to dance waltzes and polkas, but we do not want to miss out on ceprle, sotiš ali štajeriš. We also like to dance bridge dances and stitch up »blankets and sacks«.
